Police Probe Oxnard's 12th Homicide This Year

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Friday were investigating the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old Oxnard resident.

The victim, whose identity has been withheld, was discovered in the 1500 block of Alturas Street about 9:19 a.m. Friday.

"Despite emergency responders' efforts to save the subject, he died as a result of his injuries," Oxnard police said in a department statement.

Authorities said the stabbing marked the twelfth homicide of the year for Oxnard, which offers a $10,000 reward in every homicide case for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the assailant (s).

A motive for the stabbing was not immediately known.
