Residents On Edge After Man Found Murdered In Laguna Hills Apartment

LAGUNA HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Residents are on edge Thursday night after a man was found murdered in a Laguna Hills apartment complex.

The unidentified victim's body was discovered at Alicia Village Apartments in the 25000 block of Stockport Street shortly before midnight Wednesday.

Neighbors said Orange County sheriff's detectives combed the apartment for hours.

"I've seen a few police cars around before. [The] number [of police cars today] was a little shocking. And to still have them here at 2, 3 o'clock in the afternoon after it happened supposedly in the middle of the night, yeah, that was quite shocking," Chris Libey said.

Katie Neal said she moved to Alicia Village because the area is known to be a safe place for families.

"It's kind of scary. I have a kid and I live here really close to it actually, so it just makes me a little bit nervous that this could be going on literally right outside your own door," she said.

A sheriff's spokesman told KCAL9's Stacey Butler that there is no public safety concern. Authorities believe it was an isolated incident.
