CARLSBAD (CBSLA.com) — Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Macy's department store in Carlsbad Wednesday.

City of Carlsbad Police Department spokesperson Jodee Sasway told CBSLA officers arrived to the store located at 2557 El Camino Real at 9:07 a.m. following a report of a robbery.

Sasway told KNX1070's Tom Reopelle a man walked into the retail store, gathered clothing, walked up to a clerk and "then showed an employee a handgun".
