Postal Worker Hospitalized After Boy, 13, Crashes Into Mail Truck In Sister's Pickup

ANGELINO HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — A 13-year-old boy is facing hit-and-run charges after crashing into a U.S. Postal Service vehicle in his sister's pickup truck.

The collision happened Monday at the intersection of Calumet Avenue and Douglas Street in Angelino Heights, according to Officer Sally Madera of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The postal worker, described to be a 30-something woman, was ejected from the vehicle on impact. She was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

The suspect fled the area, but was discovered with the help of witnesses.

The boy was booked on felony hit-and-run charges and released to his parents, Madera said.

The officer added that the teen took his sister's truck without permission.
