Hawthorne Stabbing Victim Identified As 25-Year-Old Woman
HAWTHORNE (CBSLA.com) — Police have identified a woman stabbed to death in Hawthorne Friday morning.
The Los Angeles County coroner's office identified the victim as 25-year-old Samantha Diaz.
A family member who lives nearby discovered Diaz's body at 10:50 a.m. at an apartment in the 11900 block of Grevillea Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities would not comment on whether a weapon was found, but were seen hauling away garbage bins Friday.
A young boy, who was given permission to speak with KCAL9, described hearing an argument between a woman and her boyfriend around 3 a.m.
L.A. County Sheriff's detectives are assisting Hawthorne police in the homicide investigation, according to Sergeant Diane Hecht of the LASD.
The investigation is ongoing.
