Remains Found In Montebello Were Animal Bones, Plastic Skull

MONTEBELLO (CBSLA.com) — Remains found in Montebello this week that were thought to have been human "were not of human origin," authorities said Thursday.

Pipeline maintenance workers found bones near the Whittier Narrows Dam in the 900 block of North Lincoln Avenue on Tuesday afternoon. Preliminary reports from police called them human remains.

"They were not of human origin," coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. "There were animal bones, and a plastic skull."
