Authorities ID Downey Man Killed In Church Electrocution
LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities have identified a Downey man who was electrocuted at a storefront church in Long Beach.
Jose Mejias, 36, was found dead inside Ministerios Bautista Logos, which is located in the 900 block of South Street, around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.
The death appeared to be a case of accidental electrocution, Long Beach Police Department Sgt. Aaron Eaton said.
Mejias appeared to be familiar with the building and may have been affiliated with the church, according to Eaton.
