San Pedro Man Charged With Burglary, Bestiality

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles police officials said Monday a 22-year-old San Pedro man has been charged with burglary and bestiality after being captured on home surveillance video.

Christopher Cacares allegedly burglarized one home and entered another home, where he committed an act of bestiality on the family dog, Los Angeles police said.

The homeowner captured the crime on the family dog with a home surveillance video recorder, which police say was instrumental in efforts to identify the suspect.

Cacares was charged Nov. 18 with multiple counts of residential burglary and bestiality.

His bail was set at $100,000. If convicted as charged, Cacares faces up to nine years in state prison.

Cacares is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
