Miami Inches Past Cal St. Fullerton, 48-46

FULLERTON (AP) — James Kelly scored 10 points, including his teams' final three points, as Miami held on 48-46 over Cal State Fullerton on Friday.

Kelly's basket with 2:47 left put Miami up 47-42 and his free throw 2 minutes later extended the lead to 48-44. Steve McClellan's basket pulled Cal State Fullerton within two-points with 21 seconds left. Miami missed two free throws in the final 20 seconds but the Titans couldn't capitalize.

Davon Reed and Rion Brown finished with nine points apiece for Miami (3-3), but were a combined 8 of 22 from the field. The Hurricanes made 42.9 percent of their shots and held the Titans to 35.4 percent. Miami finished just 3 of 10 from the free throw line.

Michael Williams scored 15 points, on 6-of-16 shooting, for CSF (2-4). Sheldon Blackwell added 13 points and six assists.
