Missing Elderly Woman Found Dead In Rural San Diego County; Son Arrested
SAN DIEGO COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — A 53-year-old man faced murder charges Wednesday after allegedly killing his elderly mother and dumping her body in rural San Diego County.
Jorge Rodriguez is being held on $2 million bail in the murder of his unidentified 81-year-old mother, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
The woman was reported missing from Maywood on Nov. 15 by concerned family members.
An investigation revealed that Rodriquez reportedly murdered the victim at a residence in the 3500 block of East 57th Street in Maywood and later transported the body to the Apline-area of San Diego County.
Her body was not discovered until late Tuesday. Her cause of death has yet to be determined, officials said.
