Chargers Lose Linebacker Jarret Johnson Indefinitely With Left Hand Injury

SAN DIEGO (CBSLA.com) — A day after inside linebacker Melvin Ingram returned to practice, the San Diego Chargers have announced that outside linebacker Jarret Johnson will be out indefinitely with a hand injury.

Head coach Mike McCoy confirmed Thursday that Johnson underwent surgery on his left hand Monday.

"He had the procedure done on Monday," McCoy said. "He'll be back out there when we get him back out."

Johnson, who has a hard cast on his left arm, was forced to leave the game after 17 snaps against Miami.

Reggie Walker, who is in his first year with the Bolts, will fill in.

Up next for the Chargers:  the 9-1 Kansas City Chiefs.
