Longtime Mayor Of Lawndale, Harold Hofmann, Dies at 81
LAWNDALE (CBSLA.com) — Harold Hofmann, who served as mayor for the city of Lawndale for more than 20 years, has died.
Hofmann passed away of natural causes at his home on Saturday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a statement. He was 81.
Prior to serving as the city's mayor, Hofmann spent ten years as a city councilmember. He was also a lifelong resident of Lawndale.
"In honor of Mayor Hofmann, all flags in the city of Lawndale will be flown at half-staff," the statement said.
Hofmann is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Funeral services have not been announced.
