Homeless Man Very Critical After Beating In San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Officials say a homeless man in San Bernardino is in very critical condition after being beaten.

San Bernardino Police responded to a call about a man down in the rear of a liquor store in the 700 block of 40th Street at about 9 a.m. Saturday.

When police arrived, they found a badly-beaten homeless man suffering from extreme head trauma.

The victim, now identified as 55-year-old Theodore Allen Stratton, was taken to a local hospital where his condition was described as very critical.

Authorities have not identified a suspect or said what might have caused Stratton's head trauma.

The motive for the attack is also unknown.
