Loyola Marymount Edges Long Beach State, 74-73

LONG BEACH (AP) — Ben Dickinson scored on a putback and Anthony Ireland added a pair of free throws in the final 6 seconds as Loyola Marymount edged Long Beach State 74-73 on Thursday night.

Long Beach State's LaSalle McKay missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Dickinson and Ireland each finished with 14 points and Evan Payne led the Lions with 18.

Mike Caffey led Long Beach State (1-2) with a game-high 23 points. Dan Jennings added 18 and A.J. Spencer 12.
