Suspect Arrested In Theft Of Deputies' Badges, IDs At Raging Waters

SAN DIMAS (CBSLA.com) — A man authorities say was stealing badges, identification and personal belongings during a party for sheriff's deputies and their families at Raging Waters in San Dimas has been arrested.

Randy Sandoval, 19, was detained Monday by Alhambra police, according to the Sheriff's Department. He was subsequently released but detained again when police learned he was wanted for the Sept. 22 theft of the sheriff's deputies' property.

The water park was closed to the public that day.

Authorities said a pair of thieves stole two bags containing personal items and two sets of badges and identification.

Pictures and descriptions of the suspects were released on Oct. 17, which led to the arrest of a 17-year-old girl whose name was not released.

Sandoval, of El Monte, was booked at the sheriff's Palmdale station and held on $60,000 bail. His sister, 28-year-old Debbie Sandoval of El Monte, was also arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to the theft. She also was booked in Palmdale  and is being held on $20,000 bail.

The stolen property has not yet been recovered.
