4 Injured In Hot Air Balloon Explosion In Temecula

TEMECULA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say four people were injured in a hot air balloon crash in Temecula.

Mark Annas, a public information specialist for the Riverside County Fire Department, says the balloon had an uneventful landing at the corner of Vino Way and Calle Cabernet on Saturday morning.

Shortly after landing, the balloon exploded.

Five people were on board at the time.

Four sustained burn injuries, Annas said.

Of the injured, three had major injuries while the fourth person had moderate injuries.

The FAA and NTSB are expected to investigate.

No further information was immediately available.
