Trojans Lose Top Pass Rusher, Morgan Breslin, For Rest Of Regular Season
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Add defensive end-outside linebacker Morgan Breslin to USC's injury list: He'll be out for the rest of the regular season with an injured hip.
Interim head coach Ed Oregon said Breslin will undergo hip surgery and will hope to return for a possible bowl game in late December.
Breslin, at 6-2, 250-pounds, has been USC's top pass rusher, with 19.5 tackles for lost yardage and 13.5 sacks since 2012.
USC, 3-1 since Orgeron took over for the fired Lane Kiffin, is coming off a big road win last week; the Trojans defeated Oregon State in Corvallis for the first time in almost a decade. But even that didn't get the Trojans back into the Top 25 of the college football rankings.
Up next for USC is California at Berkeley on Saturday.
