High-End Boutiques Targeted In Series Of Break-Ins

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are investigating a series of break-ins at high-end boutiques in the Los Angeles area over the last two months.

Six stores were targeted in West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, West L.A. and Santa Monica, including Saint Laurent Paris, Stacey Todd and Phillip Lim.

Elisabeth Weinstock said her West Hollywood boutique, Elisabeth Weinstock Design, lost thousands of dollars in handbags.

Security video at the shop showed a pair of burglars.

"[They] pried open the back gate, came in and in about 93 seconds, stole about $25,000 worth of merchandise," Weinstock said. "I put every ounce of myself into this store. I built the entire store from scratch. It's incomprehensible. And it's a violation."

Weinstock told CBS2's Rachel Kim that she's doing some investigating of her own.

She pulled an image of one suspect from her security video and placed it next to an image of a suspect from a break-in at Stacey Todd.

"They look exactly the same. If we form some kind of alliance or some sort of a watch, they'll get caught," Weinstock said.

Weinstock also said she found one of her bags on eBay and bought it back.
