SAN FERNANDO (CBSLA.com) — Several sections of the Golden State (5) Freeway will be closed this week in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys.
Southbound Interstate 5 will be closed at the Hollywood (170) Freeway from midnight to 4 a.m. Monday through Thursday, Caltrans said.
In Santa Clarita, only one lane will be available in each direction of the 5 Freeway from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m., Monday through Friday.
The closure will be in effect from Lyons Avenue to the Newhall Pass.
Road work to build additional carpool or truck lanes from Glendale to Santa Clarita will also force the closure of off-ramps from the 5 between the 170 Freeway and Buena Vista Street.
The closures vary by hours and days, but officials said at least every other set of entrance and exit ramps will be open at any given time.
