Irvine Student Follows In Sister's Footsteps, Nets Perfect SAT Score

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — The SAT college entrance exam may be daunting for most high school students, but for one pair of Orange County sisters, perfection is all in the family.

KNX 1070's Mike Landa reports Grace Xu netted a perfect 2400 score just four years after her sister accomplished the same feat.

The 16-year-old junior at University High School in Irvine learned of the results Thursday and said she never thought she would follow in the footsteps of her sister, Hope, who also received a perfect score when she took the exam in 2009.

Nearly 100 of more than 234,000 students in California received perfect scores on their exam this year, while only less than half of 1 percent of more than 1.6 million graduates nationwide achieved the same feat, according to the Orange County Register.

Grace, who is taking Advanced Placement and honors courses along with participating in her school marching band and wind ensemble, also spends time volunteering at Pretend City Children's Museum in Irvine, and participating as a Bible Quiz competitor for Orange County Christian Evangelical Church, the Register reported.

Her sister, Hope, is currently studying abroad at Oxford and is a molecular biology and neuroscience major at Princeton University in New Jersey, according to the Register.
