Dodgers Are Favorites To Win 2014 World Series

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) - A day after the Boston Red Sox won the 2013 World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals, sports books such as Bovada have already released the odds for next year's Fall Classic winner.

The favorites, at 7/1, are the NL West champions the Los Angeles Dodgers, followed by the American League runners-up Detroit Tigers at 9/1.

The reigning champs Red Sox are the third choice, along with the Cardinals and Nationals at 10/1 — the worst at 250/1 are the Houston Astros.

The Dodgers were the favorites to win the 2013 World Series just before the playoffs started, but after their top hitter, Hanley Ramirez, went down with a rib injury, it went all downhill for the Blue Crew -- eliminated 4 games to 2 to the Cardinals.

Next year's favorite, who also has the highest payroll in the League, will add more depth to the lineup by adding a speedy second baseman from Cuba, Alexander Guerrero.
