HazMat Crews Investigate San Fernando Building After Small Fire Breaks Out

SAN FERNANDO (CBSLA.com) — Three men suffered minor injuries Wednesday during a small fire and HazMat situation at a commercial building in San Fernando.

The fire was reported at 10:20 a.m. in the 1100 block of Celis Street.

The building was evacuated as a precaution, officials said.

HazMat crews were called to the scene, and an emergency decontamination system was instituted because firefighters were unclear what type of product was inside the building.

The owner of the building, a 64-year-old man, suffered burns to his hands. Two other men, ages 36 and 30, suffered irritation. All three were treated at the scene, authorities said.

No further details were released.
