OC Bus Driver Accused Of Possessing Child Pornography

WESTMINSTER (CBSLA.com) — An Orange County bus driver allegedly kept hundreds of graphic images and video of child pornography on hard drives, flash drives, CDs and DVDs on his home computer and in his work locker.

Richard Raoul Contreras, 63, of Garden Grove, is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday on one felony count of possession and control of child pornography. Contreras is free after posting $20,000 bail.

After receiving a tip, members of the Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force searched Contreras' home on May 30, 2012 and found hundreds of videos and images containing graphic child pornography on his home computer stored on hard drives, flash drives, CDs and DVDs, prosecutors said. Contreras is also accused of storing CDs and DVDs containing images of child pornography in his work locker.

Contreras, who was employed by the Orange County Transportation Authority at the time, was arrested on Oct. 2, 2013.

If convicted, Contreras faces a maximum of three years in state prison and lifetime sex offender registration, which will bar him from entering county recreational areas and city parks that have passed the Sex Offender Ordinance.
