Free Smartphone Apps Aim To Keep Children Safe On Halloween

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Some free smartphone applications are aiming to keep children safe on Halloween.

GPS-based apps, such as Life360, can act as tracking devices to keep tabs on kids in case they become separated from their guardians during trick-or-treating.

There’s also the FBI’s Child ID app, available for both Apple and Androids, which allows parents to create digital profiles of their children so police can recognize them if they get lost.
