Bell Doctor Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Female Patients

BELL (CBSLA.com) — A doctor has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting female patients during medical exams, and police want other possible victims to contact them.

Dr. Edgar Lluncor, 66, was taken into custody last Wednesday at his clinic, which is located at 4276 Florence Ave. in Bell. He was booked on suspicion of penetration with a foreign object and was released after posting $100,000 bail, Bell police Sgt. Tom Rodriguez said.

"A female citizen reported to the Bell Police Department that she was a victim of sexual assault," Rodriguez said. "The alleged assault took place during a medical exam by Dr. Edgar Lluncor at his clinic."

The patient told police she had sought treatment for stomach pain, Rodriguez said.

Police contacted the state medical board and learned of two other similar complaints against Lluncor, he said.

"The medical board had two other similar complaints from the same doctor," Rodriguez said. "So now we have three separate complaints we're working on, so that's why we're asking the media if there's any other complaints that might be out there that we don't know about."

According to the state medical board, Lluncor is licensed as a physician and a surgeon. His record lists no areas of practice, but the clinic he operated advertised a specialty in gastrointestinal and liver disease issues.

Llunco's medical records listed no records for disciplinary actions or convictions.

Anyone with information about Llunco or who believes they are a victim can call Bell police Detective Rodrigo Rodarte at (323)585-1245, ext. 253.
