Diamond Bar Man, 36, Fatally Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver

WALNUT (CBSLA.com) — A pedestrian in Walnut was fatally struck Sunday morning by a hit-and-run driver believed to be in a Chevy Truck or SUV.

Authorities said a significant amount of evidence was left at the scene.

Officials identified the deceased as Christopher Guerrero, 36, of Diamond Bar.

Guerrero was walking westbound in the right lane of West Temple Avenue and Campus Drive around 5:15 am.

The CHP said Guerrero was struck by a vehicle going in the same direction.

It was unclear why Guerrero was walking in the street, said Sgt. Maehr of the CHP.

Guerrero was declared dead at the scene.

"There were several pieces of vehicle debris left at the scene that were taken into evidence," said Maehr.
