Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Police Friday were investigating a deadly early morning hit-and-run in Hollywood.

The accident happened just before 2 a.m. as a man was crossing the street at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Normandie Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Following impact, the driver fled the scene and eventually crashed into a parked car.

A witness chased the suspect down and held him until police arrived and arrested him, officials said.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The unidentified pedestrian died at a hospital.
