Mattingly To Honor His Final Year Of His 3-Year Deal
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) Don Mattingly dropped a bit of a bombshell this week when he called on Dodger management to give him a contract extension or move on without him.
A day later, it appears things have changed.
Mattingly's agent, Ray Schulte, said the Dodger manager, who is in Indiana, intends to honor the final year of his three-year contract, according to CBS2/KCAL9's Jim Hill.
Not only did both sides settle to finish next season, but now there are ongoing discussions to have Mattingly continue to manage the club beyond next season.
Schulte also said he expects to meet with Dodger president Stan Kasten in the next few days.
The Dodgers will not have anything else to say on the matter until after the World Series.
