2 Stabbed, 1 Fatally, In Huntington Beach Apartment

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — One person is dead and a second has been hospitalized after a stabbing in a quiet Huntington Beach neighborhood.

At about 11 a.m. police say a resident reported seeing a man walking down the street covered in blood. When officers arrived at the scene, an apartment building in the 1400 block of Delaware, they found the body of a man who had been stabbed to death.

A second man was taken to the hospital, where detectives are talking to him, CBS2/KCAL9's Michele Gile reported.

Police have not said whether the survivor is a suspect or a second victim.

"At this time, the death looks suspicious," Huntington Beach police Lt. Mitch O'Brien said. "We're investigating as a homicide. We don't know if the male that we detained initially is a suspect or a victim. Of course, we're looking at both those options, interviewing him and we don't know the relationship, if any, between the subject we stopped and the male decedent in the house."

Neighbors say the man who lived in the apartment where the body was found is in his 50s or 60s.
