SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Police in San Bernardino were searching Tuesday for a patrol car that was stolen near City Hall.

The 2008 Silver Ford Crown Victoria with license plate number 1305691 was reported stolen Monday along the 300 block of North D Street near City Hall, police announced on Twitter.

While no firearms were in the cruiser, some police equipment is believed to be in the vehicle, police said.

Public safety budgets have been slashed in San Bernardino after the city declared bankruptcy in August 2012.

Anyone with information on the cruiser is asked to call 911.
