Man, 42, Arrested On Suspicion Of Committing Lewd Acts With Girl, 13, He Met On Facebook

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A 42-year-old man was arrested Friday on suspicion of committing lewd acts with a 13-year-old girl.

Santa Ana police arrested Manuel Arevalo Parada around 7:15 a.m. as part of a possible child molestation investigation.

Parada allegedly "friended" the victim on Facebook when she was 12 years old and communicated with her online until four months ago, according to authorities.

"At that time the suspect arranged to discreetly meet with the victim on multiple occasions and engaged in lewd conduct with her over a 3-4 month period," police said in a statement.

Officers obtained evidence and corroboration with the help of Child Abuse Detectives to take Parada into custody without incident. He was booked into the Santa Ana Police Department Jail.
