Police Searching For Man, 62, With Dementia In Irvine

UPDATE (10/18/2013): Kabir was located at approximately 7:30 a.m. Friday at Irvine High School. He was in good health and reunited with his family, police said.

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — Police are searching for a 62-year-old man with dementia and other health issues who went missing from his Irvine home on Thursday morning.

Mohammad Kabir was last seen around 11 a.m. at his residence on Wycliffe, said Lt. Julia Engen of the Irvine Police Department.

Kabir was described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, 140 pounds with short "salt and pepper" hair.

He was wearing gray sweatpants, a gray short-sleeved polo shirt and black dress shoes.

Engen said Kabir, who only speaks Farsi, does not drive and does not have a wallet or identification on him.

Kabir's mental state can fluctuate; at times he can be confused or lucid, according to Engen.

Kabir is familiar with the Irvine and Tustin Market Place shopping centers.
