1 Killed, 2 Injured In Wrong-Way Collision On 15 Freeway
LAKE ELSINORE (CBSLA.com) — One person was killed and two others were injured early Thursday morning in a multi-vehicle, wrong-way crash on the 15 Freeway.
The accident happened just before 1:10 a.m. in the southbound lanes north of the Lake Street off ramp in Lake Elsinore, the Riverside County Fire Department said.
Officials said the wrong-way driver was traveling northbound at speeds up to 100 mph in the southbound lanes.
A 36-year-old man from Fullerton was pronounced dead at the scene. A 20-year-old woman suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
A 58-year-old man sustained minor injuries in the crash.
Additional details about the accident were not released.
The crash prompted a Sig Alert, but all lanes of the 15 Freeway were reopened at 5:52 a.m.
