Suspected Drunk Driver Crashes Into Vegas Tour Bus, Pulled From Fiery Wreckage
SAN BERNADINO (CBSLA.com) — The California Highway Patrol is investigating an accident involving a Las Vegas tour bus tonight.
KCAL9's Crystal Cruz reports a suspected drunk driver hit the bus on the 215 Freeway near Devore Road in San Bernardino, causing his car to roll over into a ditch and explode in flames.
The male driver, whose identity has not yet been released, was pulled from the wreckage by an off-duty officer who spotted the vehicle on fire.
A CHP spokesperson said the driver rear-ended the bus filled with passengers headed to Vegas.
No one was seriously injured on the bus.
"We were just driving and there was a big thud. Everybody moved forward and when I looked back I saw the car swerve and he flew over the ditch," passenger Najah Phillips said.
The driver of the car made it out alive but authorities say he is facing a DUI.
