Coffee For A Nickel? Du-par's Celebrates 75 Years In Business With 1938 Prices!

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Du-par's restaurant Wednesday is celebrating 75 years in business by cutting back prices!

The restaurant, 6333 W. 3rd St., has rolled back prices on 20 menu items that were offered when it opened in 1938 at the Original Farmers Market.

The menu includes their famous buttermilk pancakes for 25 cents, coffee for 5 cents, a slice of pie for 15 cents and burgers for only 20 cents!

The ingredients for the pancakes, which were recently named best pancakes in America by Esquire Magazine, are so secret, the original recipe is held in a safe below the cash register.

Du-Par's is open 24 hours a day and has eight locations in Southern California.
