Bear Fatally Struck By Car In Littlerock After Being Captured, Released Last Week

LITTLEROCK (CBSLA.com) — A bear that was spotted roaming the streets of Baldwin Park last week has been found dead in Littlerock.

The 3-year-old, 275-pound bear was tranquilized by California Fish and Wildlife officers after it was spotted Friday near the intersection of Ramona Boulevard and Puente Avenue.

They later released the animal in the Angeles National Forest, but it was found dead on a porch Tuesday.

Officials believe the bear was hit by a vehicle.

It wasn't immediately clear how the animal was moved to a porch.

No other details were available.
