Surfer Gets Up Close And Personal With Shark In Manhattan Beach

MANHATTAN BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A Southern California surfer Tuesday got up close and personal with a shark.

Erica Henderson said she noticed something lurking nearby while she was in the water off of El Porto Beach in northern Manhattan Beach.

She then grabbed her camera, flipped it around and saw a shark swirling about two feet underneath her surfboard.

Other surfers told KCAL9's Suraya Fadel that they had a similar shark sighting in El Porto.

A long-time surfer, however, said he believes the shark sightings are unusual for the popular spot.

"I haven't had any direct experiences with any sharks trying to attack me," he said.
