BALDWIN PARK (CBSLA.com) — A bear was spotted early Friday morning roaming the streets of Baldwin Park.

The Brown bear sighting was first reported around 6:15 a.m. near the intersection of Romona Boulevard and Puente Avenue, police said.

California Fish and Game officers responded quickly to the scene and tranquilized the animal.

The bear was then removed from the area in the back of a pickup truck.

The bear will likely be released into the San Gabriel Mountains.
