Deputy-Involved Shootings Reported In Castaic, West LA
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Two suspects were hit by gunfire -- one fatally -- Sunday in unrelated deputy-involved shootings in West Los Angeles and Castaic.
A suspect was wounded in a deputy-involved shooting in Castaic Sunday evening.
The incident took place around 6:05 in the 28600 block of Cloverleaf Place, according to officials.
The unidentified suspect -- only described as an adult male -- was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
His condition is unknown.
The LA County Sheriff's Department said no deputies were injured.
A weapon was recovered at the scene.
Earlier in the day, around 3:48 p.m., a deputy was involved in a shooting in West Los Angeles.
That incident occurred at the intersection of Venice Boulevard and La Cienga Boulevard.
The suspect in that incident was taken to a hospital. He has been declared dead.
Authorities said the suspect, believed to be a transient, confronted them with a wooden stick. He advanced at the deputies and refused to drop the stick.
No deputies were hurt.
