In Fullerton, there is a beautiful Renaissance-inspired estate on top of a scenic hill. The Muckenthaler home, playfully coined The Muck, was designed by Frank Benchley for Walter and Adella Muckenthaler. The mansion was their home for many years, and was donated to the city of Fullerton by their son, Harold. The home is now a cultural center and home to gallery exhibits, festivals and other performances year round. Visit the center to see a theatrical performance or an art exhibition or to attend one of the Muck’s many classes, and while you’re there, relish the beautifully decorated home. The wrought-iron staircase imported from Italy is one of the highlights. The space is also available for rental for weddings or other special events, and allows for many beautiful photo opportunities.
The drive to Fullerton from Los Angeles is just over 20 miles and is a pretty easy drive south on the 5. Make the drive more interesting by choosing a vehicle that will be comfortable, and a pleasure to drive. A 2014 E550 4MATIC Sport Sedan from Mercedes-Benz of Encino is a sleek, quick and easy to handle machine.
