DEL REY (CBSLA.com) — Detectives Tuesday were investigating the murder of a man who was fatally shot during a domestic disturbance in Del Rey.
The shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 4700 block of La Villa Marina, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Officials received an initial call about an alleged robbery.
“A couple of individuals were robbed of a flashlight at knife-point,” Det. Mark Morgan said. “A second call, while the officers were taking that report, was a shooting on the same block several buildings down.”
According to authorities, a man wielding a knife confronted another man at his home.
He reportedly made a gesture with the knife, which prompted the other man to shoot him.
The shooting victim, whose identity was not released, died at the scene.
Authorities took two people into custody for questioning, but have not said what prompted the incident.
