Long Beach Police, FBI Investigate 'Takeover-Style' Bank Robbery

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Officials Tuesday were responding to a report of a "takeover-style" bank robbery in Long Beach.

The incident took place around noon in the 2300 block of north Bellflower Boulevard, authorities said.

Officers from the Federal Bureau of Investigation as well as the Long Beach Police Department responded.

Prisk Elementary School was placed on lockdown for a short time while authorities searched the area.

The suspect was described as a male, possibly Hispanic, in his 50s wearing grey a long sleeve shirt and pants and a grey bandanna over his face. He also wore black gloves and had plastic over his right hand, possibly to conceal a weapon, officials said.

No further details were released.
