Search Continues Off SoCal Coast For Missing Free Diver
SANTA BARBARA ISLAND (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Sunday continued to search for a man who went missing after free diving off Southern California's coast.
Coast Guard Lt. Sullivan says the 54-year-old unidentified man was reported missing around 9 p.m. Saturday off Santa Barbara Island. He was reportedly with a group of friends at the time.
Friends say the man was free-diving and was not equipped with any diving gear.
Ground crews were being assisted from the air in their search for the man, who was last seen wearing a green shirt and black bottoms.
Santa Barbara Island is part of Channel Islands National Park.
