Man, 24, Dies On 101 Freeway After Exiting Party Bus

UNIVERSAL CITY (CBSLA.com) — A 24-year-old man from Los Angeles was fatally struck by several vehicles on the Hollywood (101) Freeway after exiting a party limo bus for reasons unknown.

California Highway Patrol officer Monica Posada says the body was reported about 12:23 a.m. Sunday on the southbound lanes of the thoroughfare south of Lankershim Boulevard in Universal City.

"A party bus was southbound on the 101 near Barham when, for an unknown reason, an individual exited the bus and was subsequently struck by an unknown number of vehicles," Posada said.

Upon arriving on scene, the Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced the passenger dead.

Authorities said they have yet to talk with witnesses to the collision.

Sgt. Ray Diggins of the CHP told KNX 1070 that there were approximately 23 passengers on the bus at the time.

"That's the estimation they had a lot of people who had left. We're trying to determine whether he fell, jumped. What caused this individual to fall out of the moving bus," the sergeant said.
