28-Year-Old Man Struck By Gunfire In South Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 28-year-old man was shot in his abdomen and arm in South Los Angeles, authorities said Saturday.

Los Angeles police Sgt. S. Blackman said the shooting in the 5200 block of South Figueroa Street happened around 11:40 p.m. Friday.

The sergeant said the male suspect approached the victim and opened fire, striking him twice.

The victim was transported to California Hospital Medical Center in unknown condition.

Authorities said the suspect, described as a Hispanic man, was outstanding.

It's not known if the shooting was gang-related.

No further information was immediately available.
