Around The NFL: Jacoby Jones Hit By Stripper, Packers Cut Fumbler, Cardinal Loses Part Of Finger

By Danny Cox

Strangeness abounds in Week 3 of the 2013 NFL season, and the biggest part of it all came in the form of major upsets, but there was much more. One Packer lost his job due to bad hands. A Cardinal lost part of one of his hands. Then there is a Raven who was hit over the head by a stripper.

Jacoby Jones hit over the head with a champagne bottle swung by a stripper

A report came out that injured wide receiver Jacoby Jones was involved in a fight on a party bus early on Monday morning. He actually was hurt while on the bus when he was hit over the head by a champagne bottle that was swung at him by a stripper. Ravens coach John Harbaugh confirmed the report.

"I'm not very impressed personally with the report," Harbaugh said. "It's not something we want to be known for. We'd like to think it's not something those guys would want to be known for. It's nothing to be proud of, so I'm kind of disappointed in that sense."

Harbaugh is not happy at all with the incident, and wants his players to be remembered for their actions on the field instead of what they do off the field. Jones is rehabbing a knee injury that happened in the season opener.

Green Bay Packers cut returner Jeremy Ross after another fumble

Jeremy Ross is now without a job after helping the Cincinnati Bengals go up 14-0 early on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. That eventually helped the Bengals send Green Bay to their second loss in the first three weeks of the season.

Ross was back for a kickoff early in the first quarter against the Bengals, and he totally misjudged it. He approached the ball, which was kicked short, and immediately fumbled it. The Bengals got the ball on the two-yard line and scored one play later.

That was the second fumbled return in the past four games for Ross as he fumbled a punt in last year's playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Cardinal Rashad Johnson loses tip of finger in loss to Saints

The Arizona Cardinals had a miserable 31-7 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, but safety Rashad Johnson lost even more than his teammates on the field. Johnson somehow lost the tip of his left middle finger during the game and even had the bone exposed for some time.

Johnson has said that he knows which play it happened on, but has no idea how it actually occurred. He believes that his finger was driven into the turf of the Superdome and just completely snapped off.

The Cardinals safety is currently waiting to see if he's going to play this Sunday at Tampa Bay or not. He is currently listed as "day-to-day," and the final decision is going to be in the hands of Coach Bruce Arians.
