Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 24)

STUDIO CITY (CBS2) — After a hot start to this work week on the first day of fall, things are cooling off.

Look for a significant drop in temperatures today.  A trough is working its way down the coast, bringing with it some gusty winds, increased marine layer and cooler temperatures.

The trough bottoms out on Wednesday and Thursday with a dry cold front passing through the area.

Wind advisories have already been issued through Thursday for the Inland Empire.

Then, on the backside of this trough, we will get an off-shore flow that will clear things out and warm us up for the weekend.

Temperatures will hit the upper 80s and stay there into the beginning of next week.

Basin - low 80s

Beaches - mid 70s

Valleys - upper 80s

Mountains - upper 60s

Deserts - upper 80s
