LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Two large water main breaks were reported in the Hollywood Hills area, officials said Monday.
The ruptures – which officials said were unrelated – were reported shortly between 2:48 a.m and 3:20 a.m. along the 1800 block of El Cerrito Place and the 1900 block of Grace Ave., according to the Department of Water and Power.
Both the 8-inch main at El Cerrito and the 6-inch main at Grace both served about 20 residences each, DWP spokesperson Kim Hughes.
Crews shut the water off but were waiting until daylight to start digging through the pavement to repair the pipes, Hughes said.
It was still unclear when service would be restored.
