PANORAMA CITY (CBSLA.com) — A pregnant woman lost her baby after she and another man were hit by a car while jaywalking in the San Fernando Valley.

The accident happened around 11:20 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Parthenia Street and Sepulveda Boulevard in North Hills, Los Angeles police said.

The vehicle was heading northbound on Sepulveda Boulevard when it struck the man and woman. The driver stopped at the scene.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where the woman lost the 7-month-old fetus, officials said.

The pair were expected to recover from their injuries.
