Police Continue To Hunt For Clues In Murder Of Wealthy Encino Man
ENCINO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Friday continued to investigate the death of an elderly man who was fatally shot inside his upscale San Fernando Valley home.
Investigators say Harvey Cohen, an 80-year-old investment banker, was shot inside his home on Andasol Avenue in Encino about 2:30 a.m. Thursday. Police say his wife was at home during the shooting.
Although detectives spent most of the night on scene, so far they have no suspects in custody.
Police did say that a .45 caliber bullet casing was recovered from the scene but no murder weapon was found.
Detectives say it's unclear if the suspect knew Cohen or his family or if the murder happened during a home invasion robbery. Authorities have not ruled out any possibilities.
Meantime, Harris Cohen, the victim's son, told CBS2's Adrianna Weingold that the family is trying to come to terms with his murder.
